Mehrab Bakhtiar is currently a PhD student in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Maryland. He is also working as a Consultant for the World Bank Group at the Africa Gender Innovation Lab. Prior to that he worked as a Research Coordinator for Innovations for Poverty Action.

This project considers an innovative new microfinance product, based on the principles of equity financing, in which promising potential entrepreneurs are provided with capital, training and mentorship to help them become online freelancers.
