Om Narasimhan

Om Narasimhan is a Professor in the Department of Management at LSE. His research focuses on entrepreneurship in emerging markets, innovation, pricing strategy, and channels of distribution. Narasimhan earned his PhD in marketing at the University of Southern California and was the Board of Overseers Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He has published articles in leading journals such as Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Marketing. Professor Narasimhan has been named an MSI Young Scholar, a distinction awarded once every two years to scholars most likely to be "potential leaders of the next generation of Marketing academics". He has taught courses on innovation, pricing, and marketing strategy to executives from companies such as 3M, Target, Hormel Foods, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Samsung.

Research Grant Projects

This project aims to develop a research programme that investigates the role of innovation in micro-enterprises’ marketing practices in driving performance.
Through a field experiment on micro food retailers in Cairo, the research team investigates the importance of innovation in marketing practices for scaling and improving businesses.
