Stephen Yeo is Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Economic Policy Research. He has had extensive involvement in building capacity for policy research and analysis in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 1995 he worked with IDRC and the Department of Trade and Industry in South Africa to establish the Trade and Industrial Policy Secretariat (TIPS, www.tips.org.za), which provided policy advice to the Department. He has served on the TIPS Advisory Board since 1997. He is also a member of the Board, and chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, of the African Center for Economic Transformation (www.acetforafrica.org), based in Accra.
Yeo has extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation, in particular of policy research networks and policy influencing projects. He carried out the evaluation of the Secretariat for Institutional Support for Economic Research in Africa (SISERA), and jointly coordinated the “Bridging Research and Policy” (BRP) project for the Global Development Network.
