Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)

The Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) is a network of over 800 economists, based in universities in Europe and across the world. Rather than adopting the traditional in-house ‘think-tank’ research structure, CEPR appoints Fellows and Affiliates who remain in their home institution. By adopting this innovative ‘virtual’ approach to research collaboration, CEPR became Europe’s first large-scale research network and continues to be a leader in its field.

CEPR’s mission is to promote research excellence and policy relevance in European economics. For almost three decades, CEPR has played a key role in strengthening the scientific quality of economic research in Europe, helping European economists ‘close the gap’ with the United States. As a result, CEPR has played a key role in enhancing the quality of European policy-making by producing high-quality policy-relevant publications based on cutting-edge economic research and through bringing together the best economists with UK and European policymakers in high-level policy debates.
