Hannah Uckat is a DPhil Candidate in Economics at University of Oxford. Her research interests are in the fields of development economics, firms and productivity, and applied micoeconometrics. She is affiliated with the Centre for the Study of African Economics. Before her DPhil, she received a MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.

It is established that entering employment improves a woman’s bargaining position in the household. This paper investigates whether a woman’s career advancement further improves her intra-household bargaining power.
