Shanthi Nataraj

RAND Corporation

Shanthi Nataraj is an Economist at the RAND Corporation and a Professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. She received her Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed professional environmental engineer, having received her B.S. in environmental engineering from Northwestern University. Her work has focused on firm growth and employment, the Army and Department of Defense personnel, and water resources. Currently, she is part of team estimating the gross regional product of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and is studying the impacts of privatization on regional employment outcomes in India. Her research interests broadly include economic development, labor markets, and environmental and resource economics.
