Shova Thapa Karki

Shova Thapa Karki is a Senior Lecturer at the Business and Management department of the University of Sussex. Prior to this, she had a post-doc from the STEPS Center, where she worked in peri-urban sustainability and resilience. She holds a PhD in Ecological Economics from SPRU-Science and Technology Policy Research at the University of Sussex and a MSc from the University of Leeds. Her PhD focussed on social-ecological resilience and biodiversity conservation in protected areas. Looking at the economic incentives, household livelihoods, conflict, attitudes and behaviour and institutional arrangements the research explored social-ecoloigcal resilience and institutions in Bardia National Park in Nepal.
