Video Interview with Francis Teal

Francis Teal (Centre for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford) stresses the need to gather up-to-date firm-level data in order to better understand the dynamics of employment and firm growth across different sectors in African countries. The interview includes a description of the preliminary findings from his PEDL-funded project - joint with Neil Rankin (Stellenbosch University), Justin Sandefur (Centre for Global Development) and Samuel Mhlanga (University of Swaziland) - which focuses on building large, firm-level panel datasets in Ghana and Swaziland. Francis also presented the project at the event.
