Sang Yoon (Tim) Lee

Sang Yoon (Tim) Lee is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Toulouse School of Economics in France. Prior to joining TSE, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim in Germany. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his B.A. in Economics (magna cum laude) from Seoul National University in Korea. His research interests include quantitative macroeconomics, inequality, and human capital theory. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he served as an intelligence officer for the Republic of Korea Air Force. He has been involved in private development projects in Malawi until recently.

A unique study collects North Korean data and estimates a structural model to simulate the potential reunification and integration scenario for the economies of North and South Korea.
