Bruno Caprettini

Bruno Caprettini is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Economics and a MSc in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He held various research assistant positions and in 2012 he was granted Special Sworn Census Status by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatistica (IBGE),Rio de Janeiro, to access data of a panel of Brazilian firms as external investigator. His main areas of research are linked to development economics and applied economics. In particular, he studies the impact of tax reforms in developing countries by focusing on specific reforms in Brazil and analysing the reaction of firms to this policy change.

Researcher's Grant Projects

Exploiting a set of tax reforms in Brazil, the author examines the impact of taxes levied at every stage of production on a firm's decision to integrate vertically, its investment, and its productivity.
