Exploratory Research Grant Projects

This project focuses on the supply of high-quality entrepreneurs in Nigeria. Using a large-scale survey of Nigerian university students, it examines the extent to which an interest in entrepreneurship translates into actual entrepreneurial activity.

This project aims to identify the information costs of trade by focusing on business travel of Nigerian traders to their Chinese suppliers and building a panel data set to facilitate this analysis. 

This project explores the extent to which women entrepreneurs in the informal economy in Nepal make the transition into the formal economy, focusing on the interaction of contextual factors (institutional, socio-spatial, and enterprise sector dynamics) and their personal characteristics.

The research team conducts an impact evaluation of the entreprenant status on formalization in Benin by conducting a randomized controlled trial offering different packages of incentives to informal businesses.
