photo of Mirela XhenetiMirela Xheneti  is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Small Business at the University of Sussex.. She joined Sussex in September 2011, coming from Kingston University where she was a Researcher at the Small Business Research Centre (SBRC). Mirela completed her Ph.D. studies at the School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristoll, and also holds an MBA with Distinction from Staffordshire University. Her research interests include entrepreneurship and small business development in post-socialist countries, and especially the role of institutions and policies in creating a framework for productive entrepreneurial activities in these countries. 

Researcher's Grant Projects

This project explores the extent to which women entrepreneurs in the informal economy in Nepal make the transition into the formal economy, focusing on the interaction of contextual factors (institutional, socio-spatial, and enterprise sector dynamics) and their personal characteristics.
