Thorsten Beck is a Professor of Banking and Finance in the The Business School at the City, University of London. His researchhas focused on the relationship between finance and economic development and the policies that are needed to build a sound and effective financial system. Thorsten holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MA in Economics from the University of Tübingen.
