Annemie Maertens

Annemie Maertens is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Sussex. She studies poverty in rural communities in India and sub-Saharan Africa focusing on the role of social networks, social norms and identity in economic decision-making. Annemie holds a PhD from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, an MS in International Development from the University of Namur, and a BA and MS in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Leuven.
